LEMON ROASTED POTATOES
(Serves 2)
You can see, when you look into the jar, there’s canola oil in the mix. The web site gives notice: Oil separation is natural. Only additives can prevent oil separation, and Sambar Kitchen does not use additives. Give a couple stirs and enjoy!
In fact, once mixed, the sauce no longer appears oily at all. I did want to take advantage of the little bit of oil and see what the sauce did for roasted potatoes. I used the lemon sauce as follows:
1. Use one pound small, white or yellow potatoes, quartered.
2. Add one-half cup Sambar Kitchen Lemon Sauce to the potatoes, tossed to coat.
3. Spread onto baking sheet and place into a 400 degree oven for 45 minutes.
THIS was a success! Shown here with a little added, snipped cilantro:
I couldn’t help but put on my American hat and think, this would be an easy, interesting Thanksgiving side dish if you multiplied the quantities. People will ask for your recipe!
