Three Easy, Crockpot Diwali Recipes to Help You Celebrate
You want to cook the perfect Diwali recipes this holiday, but with everything else to do, who has the time? Here are three delicious and easy crockpot Diwali recipes from Sambar Kitchen that you can throw in the crockpot while you get the rest of your holiday to-do list done!
Chicken Biryani
- 1 can Sambar Kitchen Tomato Cooking Sauce
- 2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts cut into 1 inch pieces
- 3 cups chicken stock
- 1 1/2 cups basmati rice
- 4 small potatoes, peeled and halved
- 2 large onions, finely chopped
- 2 medium tomatoes, peeled and chopped
Place the rice and chicken in the bottom of the crock pot. Next, cover with the chicken stock and tomato cooking sauce. Add the potatoes, onions, along with the tomatoes. Cook on high for 3.5-4 hours until the rice has absorbed the liquid. Finally, serve warm and enjoy!
Channa Masala
- 1 can of Sambar Kitchen Channa Masala Cooking Sauce
- 1 onion, chopped
- 1 tomato, chopped
- 1 tablespoon butter
- 1 15 oz can of chickpeas
- 1 teaspoon fresh cilantro leaves to garnish, optional
First, add the onion and butter to a sauté pan and sauté for about 10 minutes. Second, add the tomato and sauté for an additional 5 minutes. Transfer to the crockpot and add the chickpeas and Channa Masala Cooking Sauce. Cook on low for 6 hours. Lastly, serve with fresh cilantro leaves, if desired.
Madras Lentils
- 1 can Gourmet Madras Lentils Cooking Sauce
- 2 cups cooked lentils
- 1 large potato
- 1 large onion
- 1 tablespoon butter
Start by washing and finely dicing the potato and onion. Next, sauté the onion and butter over medium heat until slightly brown. Now add the potato, onion, lentils, and sauce to the crockpot. Cook on high for 3.5-4 hours. Serve with rice or quinoa.
