With social distancing, empty grocery shelves, and businesses altering or closing their operations, uncertainty around the fate of COVID-19 in the U.S. is at an all time high. And as with any uncertainty in life, it brings about feelings of anxiety, sadness, anger, and hopelessness. Sambar Kitchen wants to assure our customers that we take the public safety and health of our customers with utmost priority, and suggest the following.

Share Information From Trusted Outlets

Ensure that the information you disseminate and interpret are from reliable sources. With the confusion surrounding social media sources, we understand how difficult it is to find the right information. Misinformation is rampant, so here are some sources we have found to be trustworthy, accurate, and informative.

• The Centers for Disease Control & Prevention (CDC): The CDC lives under the United States Department of Health and Human Services, and works 24/7 to combat threats to the American people- just like COVID-19! Seek the CDC out for the current events and updates surrounding international news on the Coronavirus.
• The World Health Organization (WHO): WHO is under the United Nations and serves as an international leader in international public health. Especially with their announcement that the novel Coronavirus is officially considered a pandemic back on March 11th.
• Your State’s or Insular Area’s Department of Health: When in doubt for what measures your state or territory will take next, turn to the official health departments. They will provide the most relevant information regarding what you will need to know based on where you reside.

Take Care of Your Loved Ones and Self

It’s easy to feel anxious with schools closed, operational shifts at work, and routines disrupted.  Ensure that you break up your typical home activities to keep from feeling stir crazy. 

Explore a new book, discover a new dish, try a home workout, or learn a new skill while you quarantine. Our family has taken comfort during this time by gathering in our home and reconnecting with our traditions established through Sambar Kitchen.

If there’s anything Sambar Kitchen has learned, it’s that we have an astounding community. Giving back is part of the Sambar Kitchen culture. That is why we are actively seeking opportunities to support others during this time of need.  

We have seen an outpouring of generosity and compassion from our peers, and we are proud to work alongside these companies.

Many restaurants have altered their normal operations to offer takeout or delivery focused services in light of the COVID-19 pandemic. Businesses of all varieties are going above and beyond to provide clean, sanitary, and safe environments to conduct business and protect their customers.

As for our Sambar Kitchen family, we continue to operate with our stringent procedural care, and have taken it up a notch. Our manufacturing process now requires more regular changing of gloves, and flexible policies to keep sick workers home and able to recover fully. Our facilities maintain their exemplar standards, and we will continue to supply you with a delicious, safe, and healthy option for meal time.

Everyone has been working extra hard, staying positive, and taking extra precautions for the customers as it is becoming the utmost priority to stop COVID-19 from spreading. I’d like to remind everyone that shelters are in need, and although some can’t accept donations due to keeping the safety of their residents, some may be able to personally pick up from YOU if you have sealed, or non-perishable donations. It’s important to help our neighbors during this time, and here at Palace Foods Inc. & Sambar Kitchen, we are doing the little things we can?
